Alumni Success Stories
Kimberly Blakney
Years at SwCC: 1998-2000
Education after SwCC: Abilene Christian University (2000-2003)
SwCC Roommate: Marita Pritchett
Classmates with whom I keep in touch: Many of them, but primarily
Aleatha Draine, Marita Pritchett, Shalonda Quins (Dulin), and Marcia
Hollis (Bratcher)
Funniest memory at SwCC: Shalonda Quins had been sneaking and
“borrowing” my clothes and “borrowing” my food. So I decided to teach her
a lesson and left my door unlocked and hid under the bed because I knew
she was coming. Just as she was in the process of making herself a
sandwich, I jumped from under the bed and scared her half to death. She
screamed for a long time, it was so funny! Needless to say, she didn’t
“borrow” my clothes anymore without permission
What I treasure most about my experience at SwCC: I treasure the
lifelong friendships that I have built with so many. I truly gained a true
extension of family.
Current Profession: Special Education Teacher with Tulsa Public
Schools.

-I am a youth worker at my congregation

Funniest memory at SwCC: I was leading the way to raid the girls

don’t even think about it,” and we all turned right back around and went
straight to the dorm like nothing ever happened. “Shouts out to Chief for
not writing us up that night!”
What I treasure most about my experience at SwCC: I built
friendships that will last for a lifetime and I also very much appreciate
